Life throws us curve balls and dogs are affected by changes in our lives, so I’m there to help transitions. I am their support from the very beginning. I especially feel rewarded when a client of mine calls after training and asks me for do a refresher or they have a problem behavior that needs ‘nipping-in-the-bud’. It is so important that I make it clear what they need to know to be able to convert their unruly pet to become an integral part of their family. Benita said, “Karen was very patient and took the time to practice with us.” I am building a relationship with each of my clients and their dog. After my initial visit there is always a noticeable difference in their dog’s behavior. Through the years I have experienced all kinds, sizes, breeds, and personalities of dogs and every one of them has responded to Bark Busters’ humane technique. Several years ago Miss Jane declared, “If they can work on Charley, they can work on any dog!” And that is very true with Bark Busters. It is so rewarding to see the dogs respond and the owners learning how to communicate more effectively with their dog. After all, that’s “where it’s happening” for all of them. Teaching and learning in their environment is critical also. I love that teaching each of my clients how to better communicate and understand dog language transforms their relationship with their pet. We also teach basic dog obedience and puppy training/management. We help resolve the most challenging dog behavior issues and address obedience and nuisance issues, such as: It’s not just making your dog ‘do’ something it’s allowing your dog to become an enjoyable part of the pack and learning how to be well behaved.Īre you having a hard time with an AGGRESSIVE dog or dogs that BITE? It is a sensitive city, which I have experienced with many of my clients, since our conversations about how to understand our dogs need intuition and empathy (as I said before) therefore, we need to talk about the type of information that is transmitted without words: through body language, deciphering needs not expressed by animals and the anticipation of emotions. Our city is respectful, open, flexible and in continuous growth. Nashville is the perfect city to be a dog trainer. To all the benefits of being a dog trainer, I could add another one: being a dog trainer in Nashville. The canine language is very particular, and requires intuition and empathy, two basic tools to train dogs and have also healthy relationships with other human beings. Being a dog trainer makes me learn virtues that are intimately related only to human beings, but that I constantly learn from all the dogs I train: patience, perseverance and responsibility. In the end, my job as a dog trainer is to enrich the relationships between owners and dogs Better yet, strengthen friendship relationships. Training dogs is doubly enriching, since I can help dogs and consequently their owners. The same answer answered a question that went through my head many times: what is my true passion? Indeed, if you want to know what your passion is, observe what you do when you are alone, and look for a way to use it to help other people. A few years ago I was not very happy in my old job, and my husband asked me the following question: what do you do when you have free time and want to have fun? My answer was automatic: reading about dogs, watching videos about dogs, training dogs. I could never imagine that I would end up being a dog trainer.
